spitfire
I finished this one in record time, well record time for me that is, This is the Trumpeter 1/32 scale MiG-3, a kit not without it's faults but probably the only kit of this subject that we are likely to get in IM plastic. The fabric effect is overdone but I did not try to rectify it instead I just tried to enjoy the build after the battle to complete the MDC Typhoon. The build was helped with lots of good information from the Soviet Warplanes site http://sovietwarplanes.com/board/index.phpand here is some more information on the subject of the build http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/mig3/fall.html The model paints that I used for the build were matched to the AKAN range of paints, for the AMT-4 I used Model Master Interior Green 34151, for the AMT-6 I used WEM Colourcoats VVS Black, and for the indersides AII Blue I used Xtracolour X601 Su 27 Flanker medium Blue. The kit was built OOB apart from some Quickboosts exhausts, Eduard seatbelts and Montex masks, the latter worked really well, however I did get the positioning of the fuselage slogan wrong, it is too low and should overlap the fuselage star, The Trumpeter windshield has fictional frames at the front which are actually joints so I just left them unpainted. And onto the photos, my camera turns the green into a very vivid shade so I have had to tone it down a tad. Cheers Dennis

Mark
On my 'to-buy' list as I'm also a recent convert to 1/32nd. Great job on yours and nice to see some more unusual subjects here!
Knight_Flyer
Very nice. Neat paint finish and looks quite the part of a Soviet WWII warbird.

spitfire
Well thank you very much for the kind words, I've long been a fan of VVS WW2 subjects but have never really had a good stab at building one until this year when I decided to build 3 at the same time, so watch this space for more VVS subjects. Forgot to add that there is a build thread here http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=54562&hl= Cheers Dennis
