Kit: Tamiya 1/35 Panzer Kampfwagen II Ausf. F/G

This is my first 1/35 AFV kit and was my fifth and final kit for the Achtung Panzer GB. It's quite a nicely detailed kit for saying how old the moulds are and the fit is pretty good. And it was cheap! It is OOB including the tank crew figure and soldiers.

Paints are all Humbrol and Revell acrylics applied with hairy sticks.

The WIP can be found here: http://www.britmodel...-update-180515/

I figured I needed to post these here before dawkuk posts photos of his rather superb version of this kit!!

And a few on a simple base I made for it with a couple of the soldiers:

Nice finish and good to see the figures being used too! I wasn't brave enough!

Hi Andy. Thank you. The figures aren't too bad actually - the main problem with them is I struggle with painting them!

I like this, not only can I see the photo's (I can't see any Photobucket hosted attachments as it's too subversive for work) I really like the fact that the weathering looks just right and not overdone on as desert vehicle.

Hi Roger. I'm glad you are able to see the photos and thank you for your kind comments.

Kind regards,

Stix

Hi Stix i remember this build from panzer gb. This is really nice kit made to high standard.

Well done.

Thank you Pawel. You are very kind.

Very nice build, and all done with hairy sticks.

Thank you. Yep - hairy sticks all the way

Nice work :)

Thank you.

brings back memories, built this kit about 20 years ago...

nice work!

It is a great little kit for it's age - probably ahead of it's time 20 years ago! Thank you.

Kind regards,

Stix

Thank you dawkuk - that is very kind of you to say. As I mentioned in my first post I decided to get this one posted before you post photos of your superb, enhanced and beautifully finished version on display here. If anyone hasn't seen dawkuk's WIP for the same kit it can be found here. It is definitely well worth a look.

Kind regards,

Stix

  • 2 weeks later...

Takes me back seeing this. It was the first ever Tamiya kit I had and my Granny bought it for me as a birthday present. Even tried making a desert base to display it, although not quite as nice as yours. :)

Every other kit I'd ever had suddenly didn't seem quite as good!

Thanks for bringing back the memories

Hi 2wheels. Thank you for your very kind comments and I'm pleased it brought back some memories for you. It is a really excellent little kit and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to have a first foray into 1/35 AFVs.

Kind regards,

Stix
