Hi,

Had a few weeks off from modelling, needed a bit of down time after the last project had idea of doing a Model T ford or other rusted vehicle, but remembered that I had already started a VW Samba Bus.

So what to do with it. Well it will be rusted and a bit run down.

Whilst at IPMS Avon Model Show I picked up a couple of figures from Nuts Planet, Overwatcher and Vagabond.

This project will feature Vagabond who has come across a broken down Samba Bus, but where is everyone...

I already had a base which was going to be used for something else that never materialised, so halfway there with this project.

Going to have bus stuffed with stowage and stuff scattered on the floor around the bus, as if whoever owned the bus has fled or worse turned...

Figure is well cast, no seam lines to clear up, cast in grey resin, comes with a rucksack, jerry can, sawn off shotgun plus some pouches to go on his belt.

This will be my second Samba Bus, the other was a Post Apocalyptic Battle Bus.

More tomorrow.

Cheers

Richard

Update 24 Aug

A few things done today, started on the base rust coat, this will be sealed then worn effects sprayed over it, once dry the body colour will be added, then the chipping begins.

Update 26 Aug

Managed to get a bit done last night.

Finished painting the stowage, need to weather then fix to the inside of the bus and then weather the bus interior...

AD2%2026%20Aug.jpg

AD3%2026%20Aug.jpg

Stowage is from different scales, 1/35 mainly but it works.

Done a bit more on the figure: boots, trousers and belt...

AD5%2026%20Aug.jpg

Highlights and dirty on shirt and trousers next.

More to follow soon.

Cheers

Hi Rich

Was I admiring your work on a stand at Model Fest in Farnborough last Saturday - if so, your work is bloody brilliant.

Hi,

On the Salisbury stand, rusted stuff, Zombie stuff and Post Apocalyptic? Then yes thats me.

Thanks for the kind words.

Ok, so not much posted lately on the build for this - I had stalled for sometime and thought I would never finish it.

But I had a second breath of wind and it is finished...

A few pics below, will add more to ready for inspection post soon.
