1/32 Mitsubishi Zero Fine Structure kit by imcth, Tokyo

Recommended Posts

The Zero was my first "fine structure" kit by imcth of Tokyo. These are extraordinary kits, with the aircraft structure in photo-etched stainless steel and engine, undercarriage, weapons, etc in cast white metal. They are VERY different, present interesting challenges and build into superb works of art.

I wrote a blog of my build on Tumblr. You can see it here:

I am now building imtch's P-51 Mustang and blogging the build here:

That is indeed a work of art. I would have assumed an advanced mechanical engineering degree would be helpful here - and the patience of Job, for the 'obsessively fiddly' bits.

Enjoyed seeing that, thank you.

Cheers,

Mike

Wow - thats is different indeed ! ! If I'm not mistaken, I think Eduard did something similar with a Fokker Dr1... though not as as intricate as this. Excellent job !

That is not a model, it's a master model builder's demonstration that they have taken kit building to the highest level....... Then beyond some.

Congratulations on reaching that pinicle many would be happy just to get part way there.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful masterpiece.
