Royal Navy 1/48 Sea King has 6 - 819 squadron circa 1996 - XV711 ( Navy 709)

Recommended Posts

Finally finished this model, which I started back in May this year..

Full build thread is here - http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234981204-navy-709-flexops-due-sea-king-has-6-xv711-circa-1996-819-nas/

Before the photos, just want to publicly thanks "Wafu" and " daryle-five-zero " for supplying / swopping various parts in order to build this. I also have to thank whirlybird decals for making the bespoke squadron & aircraft decals. Model is Hasegawa mk 5 with added PE and a totally scratch build rear interior.

Enjoy ....

Bespoke decals, photo etch and scratch built interior? So not that OOB..

A superb build though, great job.

Absolutely stunning. I've been toying with the idea of forking out for a 1/48 Sea King for a while. Yours definitely makes me consider it more! The weathering is spot on.

Fantastic finish to a build of a great subject.

Daryl.

Thanks for all the positive comments ... it was a good model to build especially the interior. Couldn't have done it justice if I hadn't joined this forum, as you can learn so much from others. 😊

Very convincing weathering, all round excellent build, be a sad day when the Sea King is no more.
