Alan R
My man-cave has a laminate floor. Still lose bits to the carpet monster. Must be a sub-species that has evolved to live in laminate and concrete... Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan, then you have a portal, which sits just behind your modelling chair. as you drop something it levitates horizontally through the portal... mbdesignart
Quick update on this drip feed build. Whilst Alcladerizing some Escort wheel rims I decided to spray the scratch built Werkes exhaust system mated to the stock headers. I may do some heat stains around the joints and junctions to the cylinders. And before anyone asks about the spoked wheel rims... yes I'm working on those too.
heloman1
The exhaust looks rather good Mark, very neat. Colin
mbdesignart
Ta Bro. The wheels are on hold, again. After breaking too many twist drills and finding the spoke exit holes in the rims being more than wayward I've decided I need to make a jig. The replacement 0.5mm bits I got from eBay were useless so I'm going to try those labelled as for PCB use and have a thick shank and then I can start wielding the Dremel. Unfortunately I'm beyond the point of no return as I cut the spokes and hubs from the kit rims. As the bits I sprayed with Alclad are now dry I can do some engine and frame assemblies. I was also in a quandary over whether to replicate the Magnesium finished engine parts on my version, I have decided not to. Once the bits start coming together I'll be back. heloman1
Hi Mark, if all fails with the rims and I know what you mean about .5mm drills. Jigs are good but hard to design!!! Re the rims, you can order a new set from Tamiya just see the back page of the instructions. all the spruse are available at a small cost. Not ideal but a solution. Other than that someone on here just may have trashed their kit and have the rims you need... Colin

mbdesignart
Had a chance to add some heat staining to the exhaust system over the last couple of days. The CAD drawings for the wheel rims and hubs are done, just need to get them printed etc., etc.

mbdesignart
A little more progress, engine, exhaust and air box mated. Forks and top yoke attached along with trial fit of the rear swinging arm.
mbdesignart
More bits bolted and stuck on today. A little fettling was required to allow the mono shock and heel plate parts to fit around the swing arm pivot points. I also needed to alter the ride height adjuster, this is now a sliding rod in tube affair which will pick up the bracket atop the swing arm. I'll have to plan the brake hose runs before moving on too far - I'm thinking silver braided hose. The Molotow chrome markers have come in handy for the jubilee clips and bolt heads. Unfortunately with all the handling whilst screwing on brackets the Alclad to the engine covers has worn requiring a bit of a respray. heloman1
Looks brill Mark, it's coming together very nicely. I do like the new swingarm. Colin
mbdesignart
It's back again, just when you least expect it another update in the fits & starts build. The Mk2 wheels [different material] arrived a while ago but other things have got in the way of progress on this. The holes for the spokes required enlarging slightly and I gave them a quick blast of primer [the wheels not holes!], a bit of fine sanding is required to the rear rim and then, as mentioned in an earlier post, a jig needs making before the fun really begins. mbdesignart
It's back! Again!!! This build has been going on far too long but now that the Transit Tipper is done I thought I'd try and get another one off the bench. Here we have the much discussed and, for some, long awaited spoked wheels, well the front one at any rate. The style replicates the contemporary versions from Ruote Borrani the well know Italian manufacturer. Rims and hubs have been 3d printed and laced with some, err, wire spokes. Once the rear rim is done and the excess wire has been snipped off they will be getting a spray coat of Molotow chrome. Will it be finished by Christmas?

mbdesignart
I managed to get some decals for the suspension as per the Superleggera. Ohlins TTX decal for rear shock and black & white Ohlins logo for the fork legs.
mbdesignart
Finally I have managed to finishing spoking the 1/12 Panigale wheels and have given them a coat of Molotow chrome, tyres are on too without too much hassle - glad they had the groove on the inside. I know it's taken a while but nobody can say I "spoke too soon"!! injidup
Great work. Awful joke! I parked my Hypermotard next to an MV Dragster this week. They have amazing single-sided spoked wheels, and I wondered what they might look like on my bike.
