1/32 De Havilland Mosquito Mk. VI

Recommended Posts

Wow, the Tamiya Mosquito really is a stunning kit, and you are doing it justice!

I'm tinkering with the old Revell 1/32 Mossie and will be watching this thread for inspiration and ideas to steal!

Cheers

Viv

Lol, ideas aren't on here to steal, they are willingly shared. :)

I have just got the Tamiya 1/48 version and I'm looking forward to building it, But I do like this 1/32 version and that cockpit looks really nice :goodjob:

That's some stunning work there.

May I ask? I don't know if you've noticed, but a couple of your photos of the tail are showing up some dark round circles. Is it just a trick of the light, or are they sink marks?

Great updates once again Sir! I really do like the cockpit and I would be happy if I get my P-61 cockpit anywhere remotely in your league of finish. Just the inspiration I needed, thanks!

Some buried gems from the Mosquito - some of which may never be seen again....

Tail wheel mount and bulkhead. Instructions called for Interior Green - but I had a reference photo that showed it as unpainted wood. Not that it matters, most of it cannot be seen once the tail planes are applied.

Alright - been too long since my last update. Engines and nacelles together, as well as work done on the wing spar. I also put together the flaps and the wingtips just to be ahead of the game a little.

I am still amazed by this kit. This has to be the best fitting kit I have ever built. The engines are secured into the bearer arms by two screws through the firewall. The engine dropped into place and the holes lined up perfectly. The maze of hoses and piping all fit as soon as you figure out which way to slide them in. Here are a few photos. I'll try not to be so long in my next update.
