Admiral Puff
Over on the Cold War section of the Military Modelling thread there's mention of a bargain-priced Nimrod purchase, which fired a couple of neurones in what's left of my mind. I have a recollection that, abut 12 months after the Nimrod kit was first released, someone came up with a seriously stunning conversion of it to a Comet IV (maybe for Telford one year?), and that an article on the conversion was, or was going to be, published somewhere. Am I right, or just having (another) senior moment?
Dr.Bunsen Honeydew
I remember these projects ... http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/Airfix_1_72_Nimrod_to_DH_106_Comet_about33647.html http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234957017-172-dh-106-comet-4b-from-the-airfix-nimrod/ … but never found any image of a finished one. Have a nice day. Dave
kev67
Yes you would be correct, this model was done by one of our members, and I believe won gold in its class at Telford https://www.flickr.com/photos/sisaphus/5315658669
Admiral Puff
Thanks for that - good to know that I haven't completely lost it (yet, anyway ...). It looks doable, so I can add it to the list.

k5054nz
It's beautiful. An amazing job! I've seen one WIP but I'm not sure if it's been completed. Bravo! I hope more folks take the opportunity to try this...easy for me to say when I've no chance of even buying the kit!
