Spitfire31 Posted July 26, 2015 Share Posted July 26, 2015 Impressive craftsmanship! She really looks like a 'working Spitfire' without the weathering being overstaded, IMO. That eternal cockpit hatch crowbar… ;-) How many times has that subject been commented on here? It was never painted red on wartime aircraft, but green or left natural steel. Not red! Also, the flaps were only deployed during the landing phase and then retracted as soon as the wheel were on the ground. The flaps interfered with the airstream to the underwing radiators, and so, they were always retracted. Thus, a bombed up a/c wouldn't have the flaps deployed… Apart from these little research gotchas, superb and inspiring work!
