Carlosee1974
Hi, I've seen lots of amazing finished projects on here where the tiny gap and rivets are highlighted by dark paint? How do I do this?
Fatboydim
Hi Carlosee1974, this is how I do mine. I find it quick and easy. Gouache, tap water and kitchen roll. Mix the gouache with a little water and gently rub on. Let it dry for a few minutes. Wipe off with a clean piece of tissue. You might have to revisit any sections your not happy with. If you apply too much, just rub it off with a damp tissue. Hope this helps, Joe.
Deanflyer
Hello there... There's a section on Britmodeller called Tips and Tricks - if you look at that or do a search for washes, as they're called, you'll find all sorts of posts on this subject. Some of them lead you to useful links such as this one: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=using+washes+on+models&oq=using+washes+on+models&gs_l=youtube.3...466.13562.0.14365.22.22.0.0.0.0.352.3053.7j12j2j1.22.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.nTTFa-1WwsU Have a read, have a watch, have a go...and get ready for the influx of posts warning you not to overdo it! Fatboydim
That's good advice by Dean. I should have said gouache can stain the paint. Gloss paint is less prone to staining. Always try it out first on a small section to make sure your happy with the result.
