pearlesent paints

Your nearest car paint shop? They'll mix and pearlescent colour that wish if you have the code, or from their swatch catalogue. In a can, ready to rock. Several thin coats rather than one thick coat. Flash time is usually 30 minutes between coats and then 30 minutes for a compatible clear of choice. Try your methodology for application on an old model first. Too thick a coating, or not waiting for flash times can result in cracking and wrinkling. Ask if they do water based acrylics and you save a heap of faff as you can treat it like model acrylics.

Use a compatible plastic primer and you're away.

Tamiya makes a rattle can of Pearl White. Their spray paints work very well. They are a lacquer base so go on nice and thin. That's what I'll be using whenever I get to my Enterpise. The base colour will be fussy white and then the pearl white fit the Aztec panels.
