SUU-20 practice bomb carrier

Curious as to what you're making - a TAC or ANG A-7 or F-4 ?

Although some units did deploy to Europe with SUU-20/As (e.g. 27th TFW/FW F-111s) most American jets outside the USA used the SUU-21/A which featured doors (and no 2.75 inch FFAR rocket tubes). This latter is included in the Trumpeter F-100D kit (not the T-bird) and Videoaviation make a highly detailed one...

If you're still determined to have the SUU-20/A Videoaviation might sell you the practice BDU-33 blue bombs or Mk.106 Orange bombs.

Thanks for the help gentlemen.

Interesting drawings but I am really looking for plans to scratchbuild from.

I am making a RAAF F-4E, not a USAF aircraft. These rarely flew with anything on the inner pylons but from the pictures I have seen if they did carry anything it was a single SUU-20. So though it might make my life easier, I cannot put an SUU-21 on the model. Thanks for the heads up on Videoaviation.

I have the feeling OzMods might have done them in 1/32 - definitely did them in 1/48. Hmmm, having done a quick search maybe not in 1/32 - but scale side and bottom 'illustrations' (I wont call them plans, due to the quality) could at least give you the basic dimensions, which if you HAVE to build them, can be supplemented by reference pics, for something that'll at least look accurate to the eye!
