TEMPESTMK5
We could only find a picture from the starboard side so couldn't confirm the code letter sizes for the port size, we provided both so the modeller could make their own mind up. http://samilitaryhistory.org/vol013dt.html This link above shows the code letters for the starboard side. Good morning Baggers Thanks a lot for the link and the very interesting pics it seems that the letter A is smaller than the letters ZP and it should explain the difference of size on the Xtradecal sheet What do you think about it ? Erwin
Good evening Today I started painting the underside in blue Humbrol 65 But I find it a little bit too dark what do you think ? Patrice I always use Humbrol 65 for Luftwaffe planes.I don't recall seeing a BoB Spitfire with that color.Mostly it's sky or duck egg blue. Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Patrice- this isnt conclusive - but look at this page https://www.pinterest.com/pinterestrafsqu/74-squadron-royal-air-force/ ZP-N seems to show small ZP and larger N on the port side - so perhaps Malan's Spit was similar I did my 1/48th scale one all big 30" codes on the port - but if id seen this pic I probably would have gone for the 24" ZP cheers Jonners

Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Bonjour Patrice, oui, je connais bien cet image. My point is there seems to be a logic in that the front letter or letters on each side is smaller, with the letter or letters behind the roundel being larger. so based on this the starboard side is ZP - A and the port side is ZP- A As just about every profile done of K9953 on its port side seems to vary due to lack of a conclusive photo I'd say go with your heart!! But my link , while not proof proper at least shows theres a possibility of it being like that, which is not pure conjecture. I hope! cheers Jonners

Basilisk
A pity you didn't apply the decals on a glossy surface. That would have eliminated the silvering of your decals clear film. Cheers, Peter
