Rick Brown
Here we go then chaps! For all intents and purposes, these two will be built side by side and come together at the end. This'll be the spitfire build. It's very BLUE! More soon. Rick.
Fatboydim
Those sprues remind me of the James May Spitfire when they were laid out on the hanger floor.
Dermo245
Great to see some old school builds here - I don't feel on my own (once I find that Hurri) Dermot
Rick Brown
Right, managed to do a bit this morning. It really helps when the wife and kids are away for a couple of days! That's it for today, I'm off to a wedding and may not be in a fit state to do anymore later! Rick.
PlaStix
Wow! That is more blue than I remembered!
rob85
Shame mk i's didn't go to the north Africa... You wouldn't need to paint the bottom then, like the old defiant kit! Just glue and chuck on the stickers. The pilots look good! What's the fit like for its vintage? I did build them when little but they don't stick out in my mind Rob

I did build them when little but they don't stick out in my mind Rob Maybe this is the infamous Azure Blue? The build Rod is mixed. The wings went together pretty well, but the fuselage halves will be demanding. The moulds are showing their age now. Funny really, the other half of this build is the other way round. The hurricane halves are pretty good, but the wings are challenging! Hope to get up early tomorrow, before the wife and kids get home, and crack on. Rick Brown
Got up early and did a bit more. Sorted the pilot out and put the two halves together then mild disaster struck. Liquid cement "Leapt" from my brush on to the fuselage side! I just had to leave it to evaporate as much as possible. I'll deal with the mark later. Wife and kids are now back from "Two Thousand Trees" music festival, so no more kit making for today. Rick.
nick32
Blimey, that is blue.. Looking good though, where did you get this one from Rick? I fancy doing one, will take me back to being a kid!
Rick Brown
! This was a re-release a few years back, I picked it up at "Mossie" in Manchester. I believe it's the same as all their early MK1's, just BLUE! I'd avoid the BLUE one as it's a nightmare to paint over! Rick.
Rick Brown
Managed to get up early, before the family, and get the seams tidied up a little. Surprisingly little filler required for an old kit. I used melted sprue for the filler. I also took the opportunity to tone down the raised detail a little. Hope to get some more done soon. Family depending.... Well, you know what you should do, stick the Spitfire wings on the Hurri fuselage. Easy.
