pacificmustang
Gday All Thought I might throw my hat into the ring . I found a Monogram Lib in the stash. A few parts have been cut from the sprue, and the upper wings and tail surfaces rescribed. Im assuming this falls below the 25% threshold? Anyway, on to the box and sprue shots Untitled ] ] by More to follow Bruce
Arniec
Hi Bruce, Welcome to the GB. Your model is far within the 25% rule so no problem. Can't wait to see the progress. Cheers,
pacificmustang
Being as the a/c I am modelling is a L model, some mods were in order First, the enlarged blister navigators windows were sourced from a Koster set. I am really hopeless at cutting holes to match parts, especially vac form, so some filling will be required later The L model also had bigger bomb aimer's scanning windows. I was not sure how I would achieve this. In the end, I cut out large openings and glued in larger than necessary bits of perspex, and then sand them to conform to the contours I will mask the actual window size when painting Untitled I found I had amassed quite a few Eduard PE sets for the kit, so set about putting them to use Untitled by interestingly, you can see the mould break where they drop in the alternative nose for the D model, (and you can also see the awful job I did fitting that window LOL) and finally, the cockpit. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a pain those seat frames were to bend up. As you can see, mine are fairly mangled, but they wont be seen once the fuselage halves are closed up (I hope) The pedants amongst you may realise, the posiio sof the throttles and other levers dont match a Lib at rest, but thats the position I found them easiest to glue!!! I`ll be following this with interest as I like Aussie Libs and you are not exactly a slouch when it come to modelling mate! Cheers Tony
Ian Suds
Nice looking cockpit, would anybody care where the levers are positioned, is anyone really that pedantic? I'm in on this and will follow with interest.
DannyB
Cor! That cockpit's looking a bit good, I've always fancied one of these 1/48 Libs but it must be huge!
