Tail-Dragon
I finally finished my 1/48 Hurricane Mk I trop, as flown by Flying Officer V. C. "Woody" Woodward (Canada's second highest scoring ace) in Egypt 1940. No, I couldn't use the excellent Airfix, Italeri or Hasegawa kits - I had to beat my head against the @*&%$# Ark kit from Russia. (this explains the lack of "in progress" pictures, it wasn't till near the end that I thought it would be presentable!) On with the show (sorry there's so many photo's) Woody Woodward, in 1940, Egypt Thanks for looking, and comment and critiques always welcome, Colin Edited June 27, 2015 by Tail-Dragon

doozer1974
A dog of a kit, but a lovely result. I wish i could show a similar level of perseverance with poor raw materials!

JackG
Great job with the Ark kit! I bought one just for the pilot figure and gave the rest away. The only thing I notice missing is the fabric surface detail on the fuselage. regards, Jack
Tail-Dragon
I bought one just for the pilot figure and gave the rest away. The only thing I notice missing is the fabric surface detail on the fuselage. The fabric detail is so overdone on most kits, on this one it was nice and subtle, but the fuselage had to be cut twice, once because the two halves were different lengths! And the second time, because of a vicious twist. In all the surgery, the stringers didn't come close to lining up.

Tail-Dragon
Thanks everyone for the kind comments, they are much appreciated. However ... In a world that has the Airfix Hurricane in it, this is spending a year on the Ark kit! (Sorry, when I saw this picture, I just had to ... ) Colin
