I wouldn't mind a L-159 too.

I know that AZ Models have been floating the idea of a 1/72 L-159 off and on in their future releases for years, though nothing has come of it.

I'm hoping that the deal Aero has made to have Draken International act as a sales and service agent for the aircraft to the Americas will result in a few more air forces putting their colours on the aircraft. Perhaps that will lead to higher chances of it being kitted in styrene.

Hi everyone,

I would love to say that an L-159 will be on the cards but at the present I can only say we are working with Aero Vodochody Aerospace to obtain the measurements and references for future projects.

If or when an announcement about further products is to be made I or Sio will announce on Facebook or here for you.

If you want a particular model then feel free to join us on our fan club page on Facebook. It’s where we hang out and another chance for us to listen to you.

Is this "79" with red stars really a Soviet/Russian machine or just a warbird flying today somewhere in USA or Australia?

IIRC all Soviet L-29s were either NM or silver-lacquered and they have been replaced by L-39s before the camouflage on trainers was introduced in the USSR.

Cheers

Michael

Regrettably the link doesn't work, but nevertheless thank you. A warbird - that's I was afraid of...

When looking at the volume-used (+500 pcs) WarPac single- and twin-engined jets there is a very short list of those never (in my opinion) seen camouflaged in VVS service : L-29, Su-9/11, Il-28, MiG-9, MiG-19, Yak-25/27 and Tu-22.

BTW has anybody ever met the camouflaged (even in a single shade overall) Soviet L-29 and Il-28 during their service in VVS?

Cheers

Michael

Hi Michael,

At one time it was operated as a contract aggressor aircraft in USA for TACAIR. Quote from https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone:

"Taken 2009, this photo of a TacAir L-29 'Viper' trainer at Stead Field in Reno is a good example of TacAir's less visible but very interesting past. The company has not pioneered the private aggressor marketplace to the scale that ATAC has, but they have been very active in consulting and testing duties for the Pentagon and others. They even seemed to have had a hand in more shadowy affairs, like the purchase and subsequent disappearance of a pair of Su-27s imported from Ukraine and upgraded to like-new condition by Pride Aircraft a decade ago. Many believe those aircraft ended up in the clandestine flight test and foreign materiel exploitation community and are now flown by Red Hat pilots out of Area 51."

Also, was the Soviet silver-lacquer just a clear coat or an actual silver color? Thank you.

Well... that is in general good news. AMK seems not in business anymore unfortunately. Hope KP will produce good quality sprues form those great quality molds. I wonder if anybody bought 1/72 Kfir molds from AMK?

That would be nice, especially if they also included resin parts for modern Kfir variant, like KP appearently plans to do for Delfin A, R and RS... that is unless Mr. Muzikant gets jailed for stealing Turbolet from Eduard.đŸ¤£

Price on those Delfins seems pretty good also, 330Kc is about 13 Euro!

I wonder if they were competing with Eduard for those AMK molds. Eduard previously released Delfin with AMK sprues under Eduard label... :hmmm:

Will the next volume of Eduard Info contain more journalist investigations?

Apparently KP have purchased the moulds for this

VĂ½lisky means sprues, so this should be limited edition and great opportunity to buy good kit quite cheaply.

Last post from AMK on their FB page is from 21 January, they seem to be working as usual: https://www.facebook.com/avantgardemodelkits/posts/pfbid02yRVfCeRtUxkNVyw8WGrfsJbbrEpNi94C3EWwu72RcH8tr521ycQ3BZRCBGM6fSxql
