303sqn
http://www.armyairforces.com/download.axd?file=0;242718 #42-39914. Initially assigned to 509 BS, 351 BG on 20th January 1944 with the name Lucky Strike and marked RQ*S. Completed 38 missions. When landing at Polebrook 8th June 1944 a main wheel was torn off. After repair stripped of all armaments and assigned to the Group's Headquarters. Was used as the station's assembly ship and hack. Nicknamed The Black Bitch because it was painted with black automotive paint. Some sources claim that the aircraft's code, RQ*S, remained in white. There are no photographs that confirm this. Photographs taken after the war at Kingman (above) where it awaited scrapping shows there were no code letters painted on it. On 15th April 1945 it took part in a mission over Royan. On 6th June returned to the USA. On 9th November it was sent to Kingman AFB, AZ, and scrapped.
