Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb Trop.

Recommended Posts

This is the Tamiya 1/48th scale Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb Trop.

417 Squadron. I used an Eduard instrument panel, and seatbelt. Painted with Aeromaster acrylic. The decals came with the kit.

Nice, but one little probem: No red crowbar. That's something that came up post-war. Cockpit green or metal

Thank you 10btaff & NPL. I believe your correct about the crowbar, I only learnt that after I finished. Joe

Lovely work, clean, sharp and precise- very nice indeed.

The only problem I have with it is that I now realise I haven't cut the injection ports out of the decals on the Spit I thought I'd finished last night

Thank you Marvel.

Extremely precise looking Spit!

The Mk V didn't have a wire antenna, though. The short antenna for its VHF radio set was contained entirely inside the antenna post behind the cockpit.

Very neat modelling!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Thank you Joachim. I was unsure about the wire antenna. I even broke the mast off replacing the wire with EZ-Line. Regards, Joe

That looks great, despite the curse of the red crowbar!

Regards

John

Thank you John. Schoolboy error by me I'm afraid. ;)
