Cookenbacher
Thanks Jaime, Sir T, and Brokenedge - with your encouragement in mind, I managed to get some work done on the Tornado. I borrowed the idea to modify the wings from John (Nimrod). It will allow them to be painted separately and then attached at the end of the build. Here it is so far, the wings and tail aren't glued on yet, I just couldn't wait to see how they'd fit. Duncan is right in that this kit does not feature the typical Hasegawa fit. There are lots of seams to take care of.
Cookenbacher
I finally began attacking the seams on this guy.
Cookenbacher
So I'm a little late with this update, but painting has begun. Lifecolor Barley grey on. Masking for the Light Aircraft grey - I actually used Lifecolor Light Gull grey as I read that is a good match. Unmasked. Next up, masking the spine and canopy for the 92 Sqn blue.

Col.
It may be late but worth seeing Cookie. Glad you are still working on this one
Cookenbacher
Thanks guys, it's going on a year late, but still plodding along. The blue spine is on now. Unfortunately, the blue doesn't match that of the tail. I was positive that I was supposed to use a pre-mixed blue that I had set aside in a dropper bottle, but I guess that wasn't it! Outfoxed by my year ago self. Oh well, I'll figure something out.
Cookenbacher
It's finally done, it fought the whole way. Changeover flight with a retiring 92 Sqn Phantom. Low level fly-by.

PLC1966
Great work there mate. Nice idea. The see through stands work well as well. Poor old 92, from Phantom to Tornado.....more akin to Racehorse to Donkey....
nimrod54
Hey Cookie, I have just spotted the title for this and thought that there was something familiar about it. I hadn't realised that it was the completion of your Tornado build, great job and I must say how attractive that 92 Sqdn scheme would have looked on the F.3. Fantastic result, well done matey.
Paul J
very nice. But I would have gone for the red yellow wedge around the roundel and placed on forward fuselage. But still a very nice build.
