foxy
Hi well now started this what could be described as a light Tank built on an STZ5 chassis. As there are copy rights on the pictures I am using, I have drawn a picture. Some real pictures of this build. The chassis is longer than the tractor. So some scratch building is ness. Adding some extra to the front end. Plus using the existing front and front grill. Filled in the gaps on the chassis. Have a T 26 turret for the MG. Will add the seats and dashboard, plus the gears. Should be fun. Foxy

foxy
Cheers guy's. Yep this is going to be fun with lots of scratch building.I am going to use the kit parts for the interior seating etc, then with a door open it should be visible.Started work on the front end and added PE to grills, the armoured front will be open so some detail is ness.Engine inplace and next its all the cab fittings.I have to extend the rear also to get the measurement's right.Have also got the turret to make up for this build. Was for a flame throwing tank on T26 chassis, but with a little work will be fine.Foxy
foxy
Some more progress with the wheels on just to test for height.Starting to get some idea on how this will come together.Made up the turret, this all helps with the scale of this build.Foxy
foxy
Made up the front armoured plates and added the rear bulkhead to the front area.Made up the plates for the driver commander sides and working on the turret, this needs a little work.Added fuel tanks, this is an area I do not know how it fits, but from its original form the tanks could still be in the same place.Have however extended the fuel pipes.By cutting some grooves to allow the fuel cap to extend into the cab.'This is just a guess', artist licence. If anyone has some knowledge of this area, I would be most obliged.Sprayed with Green primer and added wheels/tracks.Will show later.foxy
foxy
Got some pictures of the progress.Moved on fast today.Cab now showing the shape of this vehicle.Next shows the size compared with the bigger prime movers.Having worked on this today, this is the result so far.Cannot understand why the Russians in a hurry for more armoured vehicles early in the German invasion go to so much length in complicating a vehicle with so much angle of steel plates.Been fun though in sorting the angles out. foxy
foxy
Ok made up the inside supports and left overnight.Left a gap for the turret to sit right.Made up the front top plates using 20thou and 10thou inner for hatch support.Cut out the space for the turret. Then glued all down. When dry I opened up the top hatch's and cleaned up some. Then added the front armour .MG to go in the commanders side making two MGs for this vehicle. Will leave to dry before continuing.Foxy
