Could be a litening pod: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LITENING, it can be used for long-range-visual identification. As the F-16 doesn't have them internally like the Tiffie or Rafale

Neither Tiffies nor Rafale have internal designator pods. Both carry ligtening or Damocles pods externatlly.

Only F-35 have internal pods of the modern fighter jets.

I was talking about electro-optical devices for long range target identification. After all, they are up there to provide air defence, not for dropping LGB

Yep that´s the one I was asking for but at the end of the video did you notice alsoat the end of the video there was a Danish AF F-16 rolling also was armed with a AIM-9X

AFAIK the targeting pod on the Danish f-16 is an upgraded an/aaq-14 LANTIRN pod.

The issue if push comes to shove is not where the designator is, the issue is that there are simply not enough of them, or aircraft to attach them too.

Interestingly on Radio 4 yesterday they were saying it was notable that Europe had gone to sleep for the last ten years with regard to the Russian threat.
