maxdecal
Hi all, I have an Esci Fokker D.VII which is fairly crude and I was wondering if the Revell kit is any better or are they the same mould? Best regards, Joe
Beardie
I don't know if they are from the same mold but if I recall correctly the Revell kit is pretty crude as well. I would say that if you are looking for a more accurate and detailed kit in 1/72 Roden or MACdistribution(available from Oxonians plastic fantastic) are your best bets or move up to the superb 1/48 kit from Eduard. Graham Boak
As I recall, they were not the same but the similarities were noted when the ESCI kit came out.
Dave Fleming
Of all the Eldon/ESCI kits, the Fokker is probably the closest to the Revell kit, but a bit sharper moulding IIRC. It's easier to build than the Roden kit, although it's a bit of a mish mash of Fokker and OAW built aircraft if I recall correctly
Black Knight
No they are not the same moulding. Both tools date from the 1950s so both are rather basic and show the age of the mould.
Procopius
It's easier to build than the Roden kit Most things are.
Steve Coombs
Concur with Beardie - go with Roden or MAC. Eduard is missing a trick here.
maxdecal
Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll upscale to Eduard. regards, Joe
Beardie
Jolly good choice! The eduard kit really is rather excellent. I have five more in my own stash to do Detail and fit are excellent and the decals are excellent quality as well.
