What's Airfix Announcing Tommorrow?

I note that the key word is "project." This does not necessarily mean a new kit and if it does I would doubt it would be for imminent release. It could mean the theme a new range of kits for the future release. However, I think the best suggestion so far is the one from Mr Clouds above. Or it could be a marketing tie-in, or perhaps some form of sponsorship deal.

New visitors centre at Dreamland Margate.

The "factory" has now moved out of it's current site and moved to Sandwich. The visitors centre is all that is left on that site at the moment.

Its 2 things

"Make sure you're around tomorrow at 11:00 AM for some exciting news and about special new project! Watch this space!"

Cant imagine they are going to announce any kits, but it might be a new direction, new skill, new type of product, new colloboration/acuiistion, i could speculate all day, but wouldn't be surprised to see somthing unique like be able to print parts on a 3D printer?

Not long to go now

Its the kitstarter project as said live on the website.......all this fuss for nothing

Ah but you missed an important clue:-

"When a model gains enough supporters, the kit will go into production in the UK and will be shipped to you as soon as it’s ready.

"

So that means they have lined up an outfit or possibly themselves with a Injection moulding facility capable of producing kits from the tools they have in store in Kent !!!

So what do you re-popped ?

thats is a good point..perhaps the first step towards the big one.......as for what I would want repopped, I'm far to young to know anything about the vintage kits airfix have produced....

I used to work at the BSA factory, making both BSA and Ariel bikes, so those would be nice to see re-released. The Free Enterprise mentioned above would also be good to see, as would any additional ship kits.

Looking through the announcements, it is not obvious which moulds have been dusted off/resurrected. Is it all of them or do they have just a selected few? Perhaps they should produce a list of moulds that it would be possible to resurrect; that would also remind us (oldies) of what used to be out there.

The bird kits were moulded for the Japanese amrket not that long ago (Maybe 10 years)

They were all available on HLJ until at least a few months ago.

Conspiracy theory time; Humbrol say they wont have a box, just bagged with paint colour advice. An excess of the kits in Japan brought here to sell sans box to give the game away?
