delta7
got a good session in yesterday. Pit in , body joined , wings on. nose on letting it set then Ill work on filling and filing. Fit is good with these kits problem areas are INTAKES NOSE UNDERSIDE And yes I did ping one of the tail antennas but I knew I would ( have done on all the others I made) so have the part for later I will also use my photograph method for intakes if I can find my old copies.

delta7
DONT USE CHEAP MASKING TAPE - only tamiya !!!!!!!!!!!! I tried some cheap tape when spraying white with horrendous results. paint ran under tape and must have reacted leaving blotches and spots. I have spent time sanding down and rescribing panel lines ..will post pics later but just trying to get mojo back on this one
Air-to-Air
In every failure there is a significant lesson. Bring back the mojo as this one started so well. This minor setback will make the finish that much more rewarding.

I only use non-Tamiya tape in very special cases and with maximum care. Otherwise the saved money does not pay the damage it created. Hope to see more progress on the build soon. delta7
ok here was the damage after spraying white This all had to be sanded down and rescribed Then I had to tidy up the seams on top more sanding and rescribing but now it looks like this....................... Im putting on the future now and start decalling tomorrow
Max Headroom
Grey/green camo is the best camo for a Toom and this looks very nice indeed. What paints are you using btw? Trevor
delta7
the paints are humbrol acrylic spray cans which work well , the white was halfords appliance white which didnt work well witht he acrylics, I should have sealed them first with future
stever219
Which Dark Green have you used? In my experience 30 is a bit "blue"; 163 is closer to the colour used on early RAF Phantoms. Sorry I can't remember the BS381c number just now (641 and/or 241?).

delta7
well race is on to finish line - main decals on and now death by boredom as I apply 1000 stencils , the job I least like on models
Air-to-Air
Good to see this one made it past the major setback. Now for something completely off-topic: What scale is the Concorde in your display cabinet?
delta7
Its the heller 1/125 with custom decals mate from f-decal rescalled http://www.f-dcal.fr/decals/product.php?id_product=1055 Edited June 23, 2015 by delta7
Caerbannog
Looks good - I can only agree with your comment on the decals. I am always amazed how much longer decaling takes me than I expect before I start - because of all those tiny stencils in some kits/liveries... grrr...
