Spikelhund
Hi everybody, Finished this earlier in the week. Revell 1/32 Bf 109 G-6, Eagle Cal decals, Barracuda intake, exhausts, cooling scoops and oil cooler housing, AlleyCat cowl bulges, spinner and prop, Maketar masks for national markings, Brassin gun pods, Eduard fabric harness. Paints are Gunze, Tamiya, Vallejo and Citadel, I also used the AMMO PLW for the panel lines and some weathering. Final flat coat with AK ultra matte. Thanks for looking, all comments are welcome, Cheers...

dawkuk
Oh that is great. Paintwork is top notch. One question: why did you close the canopy? Cockpit is just terrific!
Spikelhund
Oh that is great. Paintwork is top notch. One question: why did you close the canopy? Cockpit is just terrific! The breakdown of the kit does leave a nasty seam between the cockpit tub and the fuselage side, the tub was already painted and I didn't fancy trying to fix it without damage. If I do another I think I'll plan ahead and try and do it open. Thanks again chaps....
tank152
Personally I'm coming round to preferring to close the canopies on my builds for a few reasons, A: they were normally left closed on the real thing, B: left open they spoil the lines of the model and C: they can be a pain to mount right and when the antenna wire mounts to them you have the extra problem of getting that to hang right. I don't know what Spikelhund thinks, sorry I don't know your name, but all the fun is in the painting of the cockpit not actually viewing it in the completed model. We have the means now of easily recording the painting of things such as cockpits nowadays to view at a later date. Tim.
