Rob1970
Righto... finished this one today, rescued the Rescue Launch from the Shelf of DoomComplete with scratch-knitted embarkation net and a replacement windscreen for the commander after the kit part went "Ping!". Also re-did the barrels for the guns in the turrets and the frames on the turrets with aluminium tape.Yesss.... very happy with my little launch...Next project!Rob Edited May 16, 2015 by Rob1970

Rob1970
Very neat job! Great job with the cage aerials which can be a right bu**er Kev Ah, but clever trickery was involved! First I made a jig and glued rings cut from styrene tube onto the edge with a tiny drop of CA-glue... First thread of 0.16mm fishing line glued to the rings... Repeat 2 times and twist together the ends, and hit the twisted ends with a bit of CA. Then -very- carefully break the rings off the edge of the jig... Sprayed black... Repeat the whole process but with only two rings, and add to boat... Rob Edited May 16, 2015 by Rob1970

Al Gunthwaite
Cracking stuff! And a great technique for making the aerials. By coincidence a copy of "For Those in Peril" arrived on my doormat yesterday (the Ealing Studio's 1944 film - not to be confused with the film released a couple of years ago which has nothing whatsoever to do with the RAF or Air Sea Rescue): I was completely unaware of it and came across a reference to it when reading about films made wartime with the collaboration of the Services. The story is fictional. but practically all of the action takes place on a BPB High Speed Launch. Consequently there are superb images of the boats and crew. Rob1970
Very, very nice. And yellow can be a sod to apply-what make/shade did you go for ? I used Vallejo Model Air 71033 Yellow Ochre. It's pretty much my go-to yellow when I need some. Covers amazingly well for a yellow, and if I need a different shade of yellow (a.i. lighter) I use Yellow Ochre as a base. mollythedog
Thank s Rob-I have some Model Air 71078 Gold Yellow, and in the outdoor shots I thought you'd used something similar, but I can see the ochre shade now ,especially the indoor photos. I'll have to get some.Still a nice job,and well masked. As it happens I think the blues are particularly difficult to get right too,so you score there as well. mtd

FZ6
That looks really well. You don't often see the boat built up in this scheme. People tend to go for the later version
