The Black Prince

The Black Prince was born Edward of Woodstock in 1330, the eldest son of Edward III. His title of Black Prince first appeared in 1569, nearly 200 years after his death (1376). In his youth Edward was created Earl of Chester, Duke of Cornwall (the first), and Prince of Wales. He won his spurs at the Battle of Crecy, defeating 30,000 French troops with just 10,000 of his own. Ten years later he succeeded again with 6,000 English defeating 20,000 French at Poitiers, capturing the French King John.

the cars and the little series one sailing ships were allowed to go up on the wooden pelmets (anyone remember them) above the sitting room windows.

Takes me back 50 or so years as well. Those 1/12 Airfix figures were good and you've done a great paint job Ratch.  Certainly a lot better than I did all those years ago ! :D

Thanks very much. I've built all the 1/12 figures except for the Boy Scout. I still live in hope of securing a less than silly money one (maybe a restoration) to complete my set of builds :waiting:

Y'know Ratch, I wish Airfix would re-issue these kits. As far as I can remember they were excellent with good detail.

And Dear Airfix. Having just built your absolutely fabulous little re-tooled 1/72 Jet Provost T4 ... Maybe a re-tool of these too Airfix? They might not need it though, I haven't seen one for about 40 years.
