Ed Russell
You might rather have a Mariner GR.1 as per here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234965057-conversion-to-martin-mariner-gr1-for-minicraft-172/ but for those contrary souls who like blue and white ones, black ones or stars and bars we have a conversion to make the flying boat version, the PBM-5. it corrects the faults of the Minicraft kit and comes wih a set of Caracal decals for two or three choices, depending on whether you choose Part 1 or 2. https://www.redroomodels.com/red-roo-resin-172/pbm-5-mariner-conversion-pt-1-172-scale/ https://www.redroomodels.com/red-roo-resin-172/pbm-5-mariner-conversion-pt-2-172-scale/ For the really contrary who want a PBM-3 you are not entirely on your own - there's a convoluted discussion here on how to get one. http://z15.invisionfree.com/72nd_Aircraft/index.php?showtopic=6419
Shar2
I would love to get the GR-1 conversion set, but they're out of stock. Gary did say they would be doing a re-issue in around six months when I emailed him the other day.

Romeo Alpha Yankee
Have you noticed Minicraft now have a PBM-5 coming in the future.
Ed Russell
We expect the PBM-5 (when it appears in Q4/15 or Q1/16 (?) will be the same plastic with the addition of beaching gear, a couple of bombs and a new one-plane decal sheet. Our conversion sets will still be required to make any accurate Mariner from it.
Romeo Alpha Yankee
I suspected as much, I pretty much thought some parts of the correction set would be needed.
Ed Russell
When it appears we will have a look at it and produce a specific correction set for it, assuming they haven't fixed the (minor) problems.
