Weathering zimmeritt

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm just about to try and weather Italeri's Tiger 1 Late with zimmeritt and wanted to ask for advice. I'm pretty new to weathering though i tried it on my Panther but it didn't do very well.

I wanted to ask if a wash would be needed with the zimmeritt or just a drybrush with a lighter colour, or any tips on weathering a zimmeritt vehicle would be great.. Any advice would be helpful,

Thank you,

Cheers,

Rodders.

it's really a personal choice. If you find natural lighting isn't providing enough shadow, you could apply a wash. I would keep it lighter and thinner consistency - definitely not black, even dark brown would be harsh. Also suggest flipping the vehicle upside down so the wash stays pooled in the recesses.

Dry brush is acceptable too. I think dirt colours are appropriate on the lowers, but keep the upper areas close to the vehicle colour(s).

regards,

Jack

Hi, my first post so bear with me. I have just completed a Panther and Tiger, both with zimmerit, I found the best way is to use a lighter wash on the upper surfaces, darker on the lower. Best to brush in the vertical plain rather than horizontally.
