Radleigh
Took the words out my mouth, now I wonder what else they plan on after this. Is this the same firm wanting to do the IL-28? It's slipped my mind...
Ryan Hothersall
Looks nice, buuut, it's 1:48. I'd be in if it were 1:72.

Bonehammer
Much as I love and anticipate this kit, I wonder what happened to the Xuntong SB. They had arrived to the test shot stage. Then nothing. I hope that they haven't just dropped the kit - test shots looked excellent!
71chally
I like Fiddlers and Brewers and can't wait to build one, but I have little understanding of them in relation to each other. Does this kit look like it could easily allow for later releases of Yak-28 R and PP versions? Edited October 5, 2016 by 71chally

Homebee
Source: https://www.facebook.com/redstarscalemodels/posts/602283766563476 Quote Bobcat has sent us photos of the final test shot of their upcoming 1:48 Yak-28. They are targeting a late December/early January release for this kit. Look for their website, and social media pages to be available soon, along with pricing, box art and logo. This continues to look very good! We are anxious to get our hands on one of these for an up-close evaluation. V.P. azzaob
Love the nose on these, by far the coolest looking of the Yak-28s. They look fast just sitting there. Great news

I also have the original boxing of the Yak-28PP and the reissue with the book.

ICMF
Well that's... mediocre. I also wonder if they have the copyright to that photo. But who cares, really. I'm only interested in the plastic, and I'm just glad to know it's almost out.

Homebee
Revised box art. Definitely an improvement. We expect a lot of movement on this over the next two weeks so check in often. We expect to have pricing, distribution information and a lot more. V.P. ICMF
Better, but only marginally. That header is (still) terrible*. And IMO, it's more obvious that it's a model photoshopped over some random mountains. As an overall look, it's much improved (if it were an actual photo, or a quality painting, it'd be great), but in execution, I think it's worse. I have a feeling the actual, printed box, on the shelf, will look decidedly low-rent. I guess it's an uncanny valley thing. If they're going to put a built model on the box top, *own* it. Go for a 1980's Airfix or Revell look, with some paints and tools as a sort of this-is-what-you-can-build vibe. Again, not that it really matters, but hopefully they'll improve in future. *apart from the colours, which don't work at all, and the cluttered, busy layout (why are the dimensions up there, and why are there TWO lengths?), I count *SIX* unique fonts. Yeesh! Edited December 14, 2016 by ICMF
71chally
I'm guessing the two lengths given is due to the short, and long radomes that are said to be included. Personally I don't care what box design it comes in, and I suspect most after a decent 48th Yak28 won't either.
