Tank of the Deutsches Heer, Vietnam, 1968.

West Germany deployed tanks along with their ground forces when th UN decided to send troops to Vietnam in 1966.

This particular tank belong to a unit that was heavily engaged in the repulsion of the Tet Offensive. Many of the tanks from the unit were knocked out, this particular tank however, is credited witht the destruction of two NVA tanks and several armoured vehicles.

Even with UN support, the war in Vietnam was eventually lost. Today, there is a communist-run government in the united Vietnam.
