theplasticsurgeon
Hope you can excuse me posting before the rules appear. I'm very keen to put my marker down. This one will be built here. According to Scalemates, this is a 1992 release kit. Cost me 8.00 pounds at Thornbury show in 2014. Planning to build OOB using the Lizard scheme option. theplasticsurgeon
Here's my previous form for Phantoms First the 1/72 models. Most recently this Fuji FG1 Fleet Air Arm. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/12879-fujimi-172-phantom-fgr2/ and from 2008 this Fuji FGR2 http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234942627-fuji-172-phantom-fg1/ This is a Matchbox F-4K Phantom - that I built with my son A gift from Phreak - thank-you Rich My first ever Phantom built when I was about 15. Airfix F-4C. A Fujimi Luftwaffe F-4F Another Fujimi, this time a USMC RF-4B. And another - this time USAF RF-4C. And final Fujimi an F-4G Wild Weasel. Hasegawa F-4E - this is VERY similar to my built. Another Hasegawa F-4B - built from a box of spares, without instructions. I think this is an earlier generation Hasegawa kit. Remember that first Airfix model - well I refurbed it whilst painting the RF-4C and F-4G - as Olds01. theplasticsurgeon
With a thunderous roar of General Electric J79s we're off. Stayed up late watching Totally British Rock & Roll on BBC4 - followed by The Old Grey Whistle Test, Solid Gold. Total Treasure! Cockpit is primative but functional. One thing I didn't spot with previous Hasegawa Phantoms is the Nav has charts on his lap. Introducing ClipboardMan. Air-to-Air
If this was cricket, you'd be our fast bowler attack. Once this one is done you'll probably have time for another. Looking forward to seeing that scheme you've picked out.
theplasticsurgeon
Applied the light green by airbrush. The dark green by brush. Followed immediately by grey I've also Kleared those decals I mentioned. Hoping to apply them later tonight. I've got the ejection triangles on. A bit fragile so anothe coat of Klear applied. Edited April 28, 2015 by theplasticsurgeon
Master Zen
I've always lamented that that scheme has not (to my knowledge) been available in after-market so I could do a newer mold Hase F-4E with it. That and the 6-kill mark F-4D from the KA5 kit.

theplasticsurgeon
cool - what paints you use? Is the nose black on your Subject? Well so far Humbrol 117 Green, Humbrol 163 Dark Green, and Humbrol 125 Grey. Plans say the nose is black - but I'm going to peruse the web for photos. I'll let you know.
