ESCI F-100D Super Sabre 1/72

Recommended Posts

HI Fellow modellers! Greetings from Uruguay

Today I´m introducing to you my ESCI F-100D Super Sabre. This a very old but also very accurate kit.

The only things I added were an Airwaves PE and made an intake duct with epoxy to a better effect.

No major issues with this kit and the decals were in excellent condition and settled very nice.

These planes were painted aluminium so I did no metal variations except on the wings.

I hope you like it and every critic and suggestions are welcomed.

Sorry for my basic english!!!

Regards from Uruguay!!!

Ignacio

That's an inspiring Super Sabre!

I didn't know that the fuselage was painted aluminium – good info for when I can get started on the one I have in the stash somewhere.

Beautiful modelling and the intake duct adds a lot to the finished impression.

Really nice work.

Kind regards,

Joachim

Hi Ignacio!

That Super Sabre looks fantastic. The paintwork looks very convincing and I really appreciate the work done at the intake area. Built the same kit many years ago straight from the box and still have another under AMT label from the Thunderbirds set in the stash. Your build underlines that the old Esci kit can still be turned into a nice model!

Cheers,

Mario

Thanks for your kind words guys!

And Joachim, on the first years of service the huns were left natural metal, but i believe in the late 50´s they were all painted aluminium.

I´ve compared this kit with the new ones from Trumpeter and some plans, and I found that the front shape of the intake is better on the ESCI, althought the Trumpeter has deployed slats and riveting and the intake duct.

Thanks again for your comments.

Best regards.

Ignacio

That's a nice looking model. I like the ESCI Hun, a lot of value in what was a fairly inexpensive box.
