Photo Etch detail sets for Eduard L-39 Kit

The L-39 from Eduard is a great little kit, and now re-released in a weekend edition. There is a weekend set with a colour Self adhesive fret, and a normal brass fret, A set of super fabric seat belts, and a set of masks.

The kit's interior is pretty good, but Eduard have still managed to cook up a few extras with this pre-painted fret of parts. Included are a new multi-layered instrument panel, side consoles, seat belts, engine fan front, landing gear parts, and vebts for the gun pack.

If you don't want to buy the interior set but still want to jazz the seats up then these are just the job.

L-39 For the Eduard kit Pre-Cut Masks

In keeping with their other pre-cut mask sets, this set contains masks for all of the transparent parts, as well as the main landing gear wheels. They are a great time (and stress) saver.

Conclusion

The re-release of the L-39 in a weekend kit is welcome. There are areas where the aftermarket can help with more refined parts than can be made in plastic and help to finish a model to a high standard. Recommended.

Oddly enough I can't find a full set on the Eduard site (searching '73517')...maybe that will follow. IIRC, Eduard once produced a natty p/e set for this kit that included the distinctive boarding steps; this would make a big difference to the finished model but is no longer listed in the current range. Hopefully this could mark a comeback!
