Tamiya 1/48 P-51b Mustang, yes another one...

Recommended Posts

Kit: Tamiya
Scale: 1/48
Type: P-51b Mustang
Extras used: decals, eduard photoetch
Paints used: Tamiya, Mr metal and Vallejo

Built this alongside my other one, slight difference with this one, mounted on a base, in flight, just after takeoff with wheels being retracted. And a motor added.

Extensive chipping again on this one.

First time painting a pilot, dont think i did too bad. Also another first for me is my first metal finish on a plane. I used Mr Metal, i found these ok and excellent to brush paint with too. I have since tried out alclads and much prefer these (apart from the smell!)

Now thats how to display a model! The way you have made it more dynamic with the folding undercarriage, lowered flaps and powered prop just make the whole build a big WOW!

Thanks a lot guys, appreciate the comments.

Boman, heres a pic of the motor, i basically used plastic card and superglue to make the motor mount. Also found a pic of the cockpit assembly with the pilot.
