Mirage 2000-5 Mk.II, Hellenic Air Force, Kinetic 1/48

Recommended Posts

Very, very nice. Good job.

It's great to see a Mirage in non-French markings too.

I'd just wish there was a kit of this quality in 1/72nd

Excellent! A very well built and painted model. The seat looks very good.

very nice Mirage!

nice attention to detail!

and a very nice and dangerous load out!

any pic from the underside?

one small hing :

the refueling probe looks as if it was tilted downward a bit too much from some angles. I thing the straight tube shaped part aft of the probe's tip should be in line with the aircraft axis...

Thanks for sharing your super Mirage with us, I think it is the best single seater example I have seen posted up on BM. An inspirational build.

What colours/paints did you use for the blue grey?

I agree with Wez, we do need a modern tool 2000 family in 1/72 scale.

First of all I want to thank you for your comments! They are of great importance to me, as I spent almost 2 months working on this model!

Now, to your questions!

Here is the underside: S6300145_zpsctghkf6g.jpg

The blue gray is a strange mix of lifecolor's FS 35164, light gull gray and blue. I can't tell you exact portions as a friend gave me the mix of the two first and I just added the blue. For the probe now, it must be one of Kinetic's dozens of mistakes, I corrected the anhedral, the cockpit, the exhaust, the cone, the insignia colors, some antennas, probably it is the one left behind ''for good luck'' as we say here in Greece!

I couldn't agree more Wez, a mix of Heller, Kinetic and Italeri would give you the right result!

Well, It's a lovely job you've done and a nice colour scheme, well done.
