PaulR
Evening all, Having bought both the new 1/48 Airfix mk 1 and mk v spitfires, I am a little puzzled by the canopies. F3 is clearly the flat sided canopy I most associate with BoB spitfires. F2 and F1 are the clearly the blown canopies adopted later (anyone know when exactly?) but I can't see the difference between the two. Could anyone advise on this? Best regards, Paul
Edgar
Judging by the instructions, it seems, as with the section in front of the cockpit, they're dictated by the windshield, whether with internal or external armoured glass.
woody37
Could they be the open or closed ones? Might be slightly different, sure I read that when doing the review.
gingerbob
I think (danger!) that the blown are for internal (slightly taller) vs. external-glass windscreens. Neither blown would normally (or typically) be seen on a Mk.I/II, though later on who knows what might end up. bob
