Pin
My second planned entry to this GB Very good inbox review and analysis http://www.internetmodeler.com/2005/august/first-looks/Azur-Farman.php And yes - I'm planning to address all the issues mentioned in the article above Meanwhile - does anybody have an idea where to obtain Air Magazine issues 21 and 22? I can obtain any other but these two - it seems like these particular issues are carefully kept in the vaults of Farman lovers. Wez
Aah - French art-deco equivalent of a Handley Page Harrow, ugly yet strangely interesting. Good luck with this Pin. Welcome!
Pin
Nah - "Harrow" is a medium bomber whereas this monster is heavy - larger than Fortress or Lancaster

Pin
Ok - let's get started (or rather "get published") I have found one thing that was not mentioned in Cybermodeller article - compare these two shots: The turret should be further aft and the fuselage forms a distinctive edge with the wing upper surface that is flat in the kit This requires some surgery Kit tank reinforcement strips are sanded down and replaced with foil Wings are attached, the opening for repositioned turret is made of plasticard A strip of thin plastic is used to form an edge That's how it is looking after the surgery. Note that upper fuselage edges are rounded aft of the wing as they were way too sharp
VG 33
Very nice. Now you should discard the Karman at the trailing edge because there is not. Actually the deeper part of the wing is on the same level as the upper fuselage and the flaps moved close to the vertical part of the fuselage. Pin
Trailing fairing is removed as suggested I managed to glue wrong version of stabilizer. It did not fit ( hah! ) so I had to remove a lot of plastic that I need to restore in order to set the correct one Primed and preshaded A lot of struts. The instruction sheet does not specify correct detail numbers for them First coat of underside colour I attempted to apply freehand method of camouflage painting and very dissatisfied with the way it turned out. Will sand and repaint as usual - with masks
Pin
Remasked Sprayed. Gray is waaay too lite. Azur instruction is obviously wrong here. Too late to repaint now Lower tail struts - stock ones are too short, used Aeroclub profiles Engine nacelles in place. Again - the instruction sheet does not specify correct part numbers

Pin
Airscrews and wheels Washing. I used to use artistic oil plaints, this time I tried AK interactive washes. Little less hassle but no much difference. Ropes Standing on its own Nearly there ...

Natter
As big as (bigger than?) a Lancaster? Good grief. Even without the roundels and tail stripes you'd just know it was French. Fab model.
