krow113
Thanks Bdick. All it takes is a little push every now and then. Dreaded this a little, so I pushed on it, the 5 piece cap strap. 2 pcs from a Verlinden p/e set , one strip of lead sheet, and two Grandt line .040" rivits for the buttons. Oh and 2 hours! : Base gets a nameplate attached: Cheezy test fit: ...and bayonet attachment: Edited April 24, 2016 by krow113

krow113
Thanks giemme. Lettering created in Corel, transferred to Signlab , .020" plastic card scored on my Ioline cutter , then snapped out as you would a vac kit. Edges cleaned up then treated with liquid glue to smooth out. Not sure of the final look , but a lotta treatments to go ... they look really good on the piece. I'll go with these ,gluing today and then work on making them stand out a little more: Forging ahead with letter attachment: Thinned white glue and chromed Grandt Line hardware. krow113
All the title copy placed and glued , thinned white glue capillaried into as many areas as possible. I will endeavor to tone down the chrome Grandt Line hardware , and differentiate the copy from the background with some subtle color changes and shading when the glue has set: There are some straps to be made and very little else. The end is near...
