F-RSIN Breguet Deux-Ponts 1/144 - COMPLETE

Looking forward to this....Air France had 12 of these then the French air Force took the 6 Freighter versions with tip tanks( called Saharas) but still operated by AF. The 6 AF that used to come to Heathrow could carry just over 100 pax on two levels. Name means two Bridges. Something else to see.

Nothing could be more French! - I saw it at the museum, (under restoration), in Toulouse last year, a very imposing airframe indeed.

Good luck with the build..

I saw one at Évreux last summer, quite a surprise as you round a bend going up a slip road only to catch a glimpse of one of these.

I do like the Deux-Ponts - it's a nod to the pre-war ugliness.

The Deaux Ponts is undoubtedly very French. But the kit looks daunting... More flash than bits and pieces. I would not know where to start!

The award for bravery may go to you if you persevere.

Very impressive

Hi

This is on my living room wall, the painter gave it to me about 12 years ago and sign it for me.

Day one progress

This is what's it all about - true bare metal skin!

Most small parts are not worth moulding

Wings and engine nacelles. Putty, sand, prime, scribe. Over and over again

Much better on the pics than in reality. Still a lot of surface work

Whoa! That's day 1 progress? I haven't even got my kit out of the box yet (too busy - I know, break out the violins :violin: )

Excellent progress so far!

Deaux Pont doesn't mean two bridges. It means two decks. The French word is ths same for a bridge...a deck spanning two points

Same on a ship...upper class deck...Pont Superior for example.

I'm usually on Le Pont De Peasant

Holes for headlights

Why did I glue together two cuts of paper clip?

1427152059_PICT0464.jpg

That's why

1427152064_PICT0466.jpg

I don't have a wire thick enough for the same trick with wing headlights so I used stretched sprue

I received my copy of this kit (albeit in Silver City livery) a few days ago, and I must say that it's better than I expected. The recent review in SAM, which I saw after I'd ordered the kit, led me to dread what would eventually arrive... but I'm not unhappy. The natural metal will be a challenge though.

Following this with an eye towards building tips. ;)
