It may prejudice the moral high ground I anticipate taking following such an audit (how much Rapha and Castelli Cycling kit does a girl need?) if a Silhouette cutter appears in the accounts any time soon........ Yes, such things can be tricky to justify, it does look good though. Might need to work through my old notes on cost benefit analysis, value of money over time etc............. The latest progress on the frame is looking promising. 5 hours ago, Courageous said: Nice try Terry but my recent purchase of that Dental Vacformer has put a dent into my tool budget, besides I have one of these for my camo stuff, works too. Well I had to try didn't I. I recall seeing one of those curly cutter things at Telford a couple of years ago and remember thinking (subsequently), how useful one would be, and now I have deja-vu .............. So you are thinking perhaps something like the complete unabridged works of a Fritag thread, perhaps it could be called "A Tale of Two Hawks"? Or maybe break it down into a series of smaller works?

Careful cutting out of the 0.2mm frame mould: Left me with this: Which is a noticeably finer product than the previous best, 0.3mm effort. Least ways I think so. And if you can’t tell which is the latest one then I’ve failed........again.... And which would I think be useable with just a bit more finessing: Had enough of that for now.....And I’m sure you have too. @rob Lyttle I’m afraid that most of the 114 pages are like this - so walk away now - you have been warned..... xffw45343tg
0.2mm? That's, what - 14.4mm scale? Close enough to the real thing, Shirley? Looks amazing. If you get a moment, can we have a pic of it next to the kit canopy/frame, (which has a scale thickness of about a foot)? CedB
I knew you’d get there Steve. I would say ‘perfect’ but, as that’s from a kit basher, it has limited credence. That said, you should buy a Silhouette. My Portrait does what I need it to and they’re hardly an hours work for a Learned Friend

The 0.3mm looked good to me, the 0.2 is just about perfect. And we are judging on macro photos - I know how small this model is in real life, let alone the canopy and its framing ... But I know you strive for perfection and will not settle for less ... Ciao
Ex-FAAWAFU
I assume you’ll be taking a similar approach for the MDC? To a man of your skills, perhaps in 0.1... Easy peasy. 1

Or worse - have decided that such dabblings were inadequate and I have to start again......... Mind you. The whole Fritag etching saga was a long long time ago........And were none of us getting any younger..... (even Giorgio is now n his 50th year).... Mind - mInd you, it was a long dabble with etching.....I did these as well.... Ex-FAAWAFU
I confess I had become temporarily unaware* of your stellar PE home brew work, but normal service has now been resumed. [My post was a joke anyway!] P.S. What had that poor Hawk done to deserve being grilled? Or did the Fritag Productions’ Branding Team realise that the word “grille” was subject to copyright? 15 all. New balls, please. *My Observer used to say that he was taught during training that he was never “lost”; merely “temporarily unsure of his position”. On a similar basis, I never “forget”... CedB
Awww, you guys. Memory fading a bit eh? Or perhaps SWMBO has been 'tidying up'? Mrs B is banned from the man cave for that very reason - I'll lose my own things, thank you It's posts like this lot that remind me of the three things I like most about BM: - experiences of life's progress with similarly aged Gentlemen - our ability to retain our humour in times of adversity and - er, I've forgotten what the third thing was. (Still) nice PE Steve. Clever.
Biggles87
My Mrs B is not allowed in the “ man cave “ either except by invitation, which is usually to find something I’ve dropped. She has younger eyes than me. John 1

Tomoshenko
Just catching up after a brief alien abduction absence. I know it's been alluded to previously Steve, but why not try a 2d etch version? You've got the kit and expertise, so no harm giving it a go - everything to gain, nothing to lose. I mean what could possibly go wrong.... 1
