I've spent the evening with some etch folding.

mm_05.jpg

I just hope the seats line up well in the fuselage later. It's a bit of guesswork here.

Hi Jan!

Nice choice! I have built this same kit also into the Estonian colours. In fact it is just waiting decision how to color the engine covers into natural metal.

I had some problems with the front fuselage to wing joint. Might be self affected problem but if not a shim to lower fuselage seam just in front of the wing might help.

Cheers,

AaCee

Always felt the Magister was a lovely little aircraft and the simple silver scheme will show of its lines a treat. Unusual markings add an extra level of interest as well.

Back in business again.

Interior green with steering columns and seat belts in grey

May the force be with you....

You were right AaCee, I had to do a lot of sanding both front and rear of the wing joints.

@AaCee for the natural metal engine covers.

I've always used Mr Metal for natural metal. My He 176 here as a reference.

I found a new product from AK, True Metal. A metallic wax paste that smells like shoe polish.

Really hard to take photo of it, but, I tried it here and seems to be a bit more shiny than Mr. Metal.

So how do you apply that AK then? Did you spray that Mr Metal or brush paint it then buff it like me?

I notice your Marivox Saab 105, so will you be going back to that any time then. I'd say one of the most challenging kits I have ever encountered.

The Magister looks rather nice.

Thank you all guys!

I've brushed both the AK and Mr Metal on my 105.

The AK is a paste so I don't think you can airbrush even if its diluted.

Normally I airbrush Mr Metal, but then it generates a lot of dust so try to brush off as much as possible before you start to buff.

Well, that 105 has served is purpose well as color test object.

I have two more in my stash, supposed to be an austrian 105Ö and a recon/light attack SK 60C Anteater.

The Marivox kit is a bit over-engineered, the worst parts are the engine covers.

To be nice you can call the kit "75 parts and none of them will fit together". :evil_laugh:

It's getting late here, but I'll give it a last try.

I spent some hours yesterday with sanding, puttying with more sanding.

Primer on today...

mm_09.jpg

...some more sanding and a coat of Agama silver.

Thank you, but I think I already have lost.
I just can't find the windscreens and the PE venturi tube now. :weep:

The decals went on without any problems. The wheels didn't. No fit at all. I had to sand them down a lot and the look a bit odd now.

mm_11.jpg

I have masked the walkway for the 2nd time.

Last attempt resulted in that I ripped of the painted walkway with the tape.

Hi Jan

Your Magister's looking exceptionally smart in those Estonian markings and you are so close to being finished.

If you want to get it finished tonight and post pictures that will be fine.

If not, no problem.

Cheers

Thank You, Cliff!

The Magister is finished except the windscreens.

I must have put them in a much too safe place.

The engine covers have AK Interactice True Metal brushed on .

I'm not that satisfied with the result and I think the brushmarks are bit to visible

mm_13.jpg

I managed to fold the decals around the rudder with a lot of decal setter and only needed to paint a bit of the blue on top.

RLM 25 Blau matched good enough.

mm_14.jpg

The exhaust differs a bit from the real thing.

And of course I lost one of those 2mm long "thingies". One is visible between the landing gears.

It was a fun plane to build and I like this sort of 2-seaters from the 30's
