sunray
This was a kit I made when I was a kid in the land of black and white TV's, red phone boxes, wobbly Dr Who sets and tube glue. So when I saw on ebay I had to get it. A lass it did not cost 30p. Here is the link to the build http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234976812-172-airfix-f-80-shooting-star/
viscount806x
Very nice job on that old timer. I also built this in the mid '70s when it was a 'new out'. Didn't look as nice as yours though. Looks as though you have scribed it up as well, had raised detail (shock horror) as I remember.
modelling minion
That is excellent. One of the nicest F-80's I have seen, and the fact that you built it from the old Airfix kit makes your achievement even better. Well done.

Fatboydim
Very nice. I particularly like the way you've made the pilot look at the camera. Great to see a golden oldie so well made.

AndrewE
Great build. I put one of these together last year myself and I think it is one of the best "old" Airfix kits around. Andrew

somtec
Looks great, yet again it proves it doesn't have to be the latest kit on the market to look good with a little bit of effort.

noelh
After my previous post on this thread. I considered buying an F80. I even looked at the Sword kit last night. But something was niggling away in the back of my mind. Just now for no obvious reason I started to pull out my stored stash of kits from under the eaves and going through them one by one. Then in the last box at the bottom I saw the word 'Lockheed' 'No way' I thought but way, there it was: Airfix F80 Shooting Star. Guess what jumped to head of the build list?

rmcclure
What a gem. I always love to see models posed in flight as well as it really brings them to life. Cheers, Roger
