Mike Esposito
Wow. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=V6b_VLbNN4mzggSx14HQAw&url=http://www.popsci.com/soon-youll-be-able-buy-tiltrotor-aircraft&ved=0CFUQqQIwEA&usg=AFQjCNFrRqVZbAsjX722kLJblKNxFVzrtA Just saw this remarkable aircraft on Flipboard. Never heard of a tilt-rotor aircraft for civilian use. Never knew one existed other than the V22 Osprey. Would love to see this kitted in 1/48 scale. garryrussell
Interesting. Lets hope they can sell it. The advantage here is for people commuting to an airport the getting on a helicopter to go to the city. More expensive to buy and run but cheaper than using a helicopter and aeroplane. Even though that is a limited market it would be big enough to support this one product. BTW might be an idea to change the heading Agusta not August
MadRicky
August.....September.... October....December.... Intersting toy but I'm not sure about his "success" . The project had his first flight on 2003...
bzn20
I thought they'd binned this. I saw it in a late ish 99 Westland company comic either before or just after GKN had merged Westland with Finmeccanica. Glad they decided to continue. Jessica
They basically completely redesigned it since its first flight so it's no surprise that it's taken so long to certify. Add in the slump on the global oil market (where a large chunk of it's prospective buyers are) and it's not likely to enter service for a couple more years.
