I've just been chatting on-line with Andy :blah: and he has reminded me that he will be at SMW2015 on 7th and 8th November with the Casemate uk stand.

Although it is a few months away, make a note in your diaries to pop across meet Andy and let him know you are a Britmodeller! :D

A Thunderbolt Pilot’s War Across the Pacific

By James Curran, Terrence Popravak Jr
There were no mission limits for a pilot in the Pacific during World War II. So it was for James “Jug” Curran, all the way from New Guinea to the Philippines with the 348th Fighter Group, the first P-47 Thunderbolt outfit in the Pacific.
This work captures the combat experience of aviators in the Pacific, aided by pertinent excerpts from the official histories of units that “Jug” Curran flew with.

Field Marshal

The Life and Death of Erwin Rommel

By Daniel Allen Butler
A German patriot torn between allegiance to his country and hatred for Hitler.

A man who could admire Adolf Hitler at the same time that he despised the Nazis, and be dazzled by a Führer whose successes blinded him to the true nature of the Third Reich. Yet on one pivotal day in June 1944 he came to understand that he had mistakenly served an evil man and evil cause.

Zemke's Wolfpack

A Photographic Odyssey of the 56th Fighter Group During the Second World War

By Nigel Julian, Peter Randall, Hub Zemke Jr

The USAAF 56th Fighter Group justified the name of 'Zemke's Wolfpack' by the aggressive attitude and tactics instilled by Second World War commander Hub Zemke. Over 400 photographs, from private albums and archives, the majority of which have never been published, illustrate the story of the top scoring Eighth Air Force group in air to air combat.
