Ryan Hothersall
It looks like KP are concentrating on MiG-23 variants used by the Czech Air Force as we have had the MiG-23MF and MiG-23ML so far. Hopefully the MiG-23BN and MiG-23UB are future releases. I'm guessing KP won't do the MiG-23P and MiG-23MS as these variants didn't see service with the Czechs. Just need to find Red 339 decals for the East German option as that's the aircraft I saw at the Evergreen Air & Space Museum in the USA.

Apex
Blah, so this one still has the clear parts from the fighter version. The windscreen is too short. The new plastic parts look rather rough. Also I don't see the rear fuselage bomb racks included (RV kit had them in resin). Somewhat disappointing, but maybe the release of this kit by a major manufacturer brings us more aftermarket items. In December both planes had smaller (i.e. MiG-23P/ML-type) fin - hence the "Danubian" -23MF was wrong. Perhaps the artist was told to fix the bug, but (probably not knowing much about the aircraft) he "improved" both. In the March version, which has just hit the market, the "Danubian" -23MF is OK, but the Soviet -23P has the wrong (i.e. BM/MF-type) fin... John Thompson
If you look carefully at the box art on KP's multiple versions of any new kit, the artwork itself is beautiful - among the best, if not the best, in the hobby. However, they get more mileage from using the same basic drawing by changing its orientation (climbing, diving), or even flipping it, to create several different box arts. Maybe that's why you're seeing those errors - the necessary alterations to the basic drawing were overlooked. John
