Kes
Absolutely in for this one, one of the great aviators of all time!! I know the list of aircraft eligible for this is extensive, but could I build a Miles M52 (I have a resin copy in the stash) I know it was canceled before production but Capt Brown was earmarked to be test pilot, as referenced in his book 'Miles M52' . . . Kes (it's okay to say no, I have Gloster E28/39 DH108 Swallow and Gloster Meteor F8 prone in the stash!)

825
I have a Sea Hornet somewhere. Didn't Captain Brown not say it was the finest aircraft he had piloted?
avro683
Wings of the Luftwaffe is a very useful book for German Aircraft flown by Eric Brown. Lots of photos and cockpit detail drawings are included.
Lightningboy2000
I have a Sea Hornet somewhere. Didn't Captain Brown not say it was the finest aircraft he had piloted? Has has said that it was one of hi favorites. Folkbox1 sign me in as I have a Sea Hornet that I can build. I have a friend who worked on them at Butterworth so more reason to get involved with this one. Martin

AnonymousDFB1
Good idea, sign me up. Mish, can I respectfully request that the normal voting rules be wavered for this? It's no longer my call, Enzo is now running the show. However my advice to him would be that we only allow In Memoriam GBs for to bypass the vote for members who pass away and then it is only something we consider for a long standing, well liked and respected member of our community. Hi Kes, I'm afraid it's a No to any aircraft Captain Brown didn't actually fly (although I'm tempted to let this one exception through - perhaps Enzo would care to have the casting vote on this)
Smudge
Hi Folkbox1, If we can get this up and running, I would like to do a Fleet Air Arm type. A quick browse through your list threw up the Firebrand and an Attacker. Just wondered if you could point me in the right direction for some photos/pictures to work from? Folkbox1
Hi Folkbox1, If we can get this up and running, I would like to do a Fleet Air Arm type. A quick browse through your list threw up the Firebrand and an Attacker. Just wondered if you could point me in the right direction for some photos/pictures to work from? Hi Smudge, Can't help on the photos much but I will check Wings of The Navy or Wierd and Wonderful etc. that I have. Unfortunately not every plane was illustrated with a picture and quite often when it was the picture editor used a stock photo rather then the actual plane in the text (that caught me out a few times I can tell you). All I can suggest is use the codes I've found to see if that brings up anything on your browser of choice
ejboyd5
One could always do the Martlet he flew from an escort carrier and depict it with two others, one either side of 'Winkle' who was flying inverted in the centre of the formation! Photos of this are well known. Nice subject for the forthcoming new tool Airfix kit of the Wildcat! I've looked for this photo with no success. Can anyone provide a copy? Folkbox1
I've looked for this photo with no success. Can anyone provide a copy? If you can find Wings on My Sleeve it's in there. The Works (i think) were selling it cheap for a few quid a year ago so may still have it. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1276064&page=1133 Scroll down till you find it Edited March 3, 2016 by Folkbox1

Nobby57
So Enzo, how far off are we? Just bought a CMR prototype Sea Venom and can't wait to get very 'controversial' with it for a club themed build!
Enzo the Magnificent
So Enzo, how far off are we? It's difficult to say. We will hold the poll in November. If it gets selected, then we go into the negotiation phase...
