It would be good to see a Ki61-II kit - not a -II Kai - but in 1/72, of course.

Is it true that the RS Ki61-II Kai Prototype kit had a larger wing than the Ki61-II kit?

Lovely model - I have their bubbletop ki-61 II, great kit also.

 

Now my hopes of seeing a ki-87 II in 1/48 are up again!

During the annual IPMS Germany exhibition in Berlin Gatow 2018 I had a talk with Robert Schneider. I learned that these two kits are based on a design which was originally done for Hasegawa. There are some parts which can be used from the Hasegawa Ki-61 kits which are better than this short run variant (if one chooses to sacrifice a kit).
