Adie_Phantom_Pilot Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Hey Guys Can anyone help me here please, I am starting a diorama for a friend who's grandfather fought for the Hungarians during 1944 to 1945 I have the image in my mind of how I would like it to be and drawn basic sketchs but would like to know if there are any good web sites or books for further research on the nashorn in Hungary winter 1944 /45 I would be so grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction please Many Thanks Adie
JackG Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Nothing in my library I could suggest, but a quick google finds this book The review (linked by clicking the book image) looks to be what you are searching for. If it is Nashorn photos you are looking for, I'd suggest figuring out which German units were in Hungary in 1944-45, and then track down a book on said unit. I've found you an allocation list of Nashorn deliveries throughout the war to start you off: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47207/thread/1111834039 regards, Jack 1
Adie_Phantom_Pilot Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Jack Thank you that is superb Cheers Adie
Crayons Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Another book that might be of use: Panzerschlacht - Armoured Operations on the Hungarian Plains September - November 1944 by Perry Moore I don't have this book, so I can not comment on its content or use to you for your project. Also SS Wiking I believe was in Hungry in 44-45, so maybe look into them. A book that comes to mind is: SS-Wiking The History of the Fifth SS Division 1941-45 by Rupert Butler I do not have this book either, so again the above comment applies. 1
